Empty folders? Chasing data? There’s a better way.
Don’t use a Passive Data System, use an Actively-Managed Data System.
Take the WellDrive One Well Challenge
Give us one well and you will see the difference!
In today’s competitive world, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” isn’t good enough. Using your standard share drive, or other passive data systems that just accept whatever data users upload, the burden rests on your already-overloaded staff to enforce organization, naming conventions, and data population. The end result is empty folders, duplicate files in multiple folders, and time wasted looking for data.
Take the WellDrive ONE WELL CHALLENGE and see the difference an actively managed well file system can have.
Upload a well folder into WellDrive and we’ll show you how many empty folders and duplicate files you have. Compare the difference. Completely free.

Project clean-up also eliminates 3,400 duplicate files and 1,600 empty folders.
Texas American Resources Company (TARC) is an oil and gas company growing it’s footprint in the Eagle Ford shale through acquisitions while also developing its existing acreage through the drill bit. TARC faced several challenges before teaming up with WellDrive.
THE WELLDRIVE PROCESS
Complete information, when and where you need it.
After more than 15 years and 15 million files processed, we have learned that the average error or missing data rate of well file data uploads is 12% to 35%. That means at least 1 in 8 files coming from your service company ends up on the wrong well, is missing, corrupted, or in some other way flawed. We correct these errors through a rigorous process so you can spend less time looking for data and get back to being productive.
Watch how WellDrive customers are finding clean and complete well file data.

Great from the rig or the office
My experience with WellDrive has been interesting because I’ve seen it on both sides – from the rig side and the office side. Working as a company man for Pioneer, it was great because at 2:00 in the morning you need something and you don’t want to call your engineer and go “Hey, where’s this information?” You know right where it is and you can go get it.
Now, on the engineering side, I work with Deep Energy Specialist and we’re doing engineering for PetroLegacy and Black Swan. It’s tremendous because, again, at 2:00 in the morning you go to look for something and it’s right where it’s supposed to be. You don’t need to go chasing down the BHA from three wells ago where you want to figure out “Well, what was the power section on that motor?” It’s all there. You can go and find your geo report – everything is ready to go in one place. And that’s really efficient when you’re trying to pull things together at all hours.
Big fan
My experience with WellDrive started when I was at Venado Oil and Gas. We were looking for a solution to warehouse our records. The great thing about WellDrive was we didn’t know going into it really how it worked and what the capabilities were. The good part was we could take it in steps – just try it. They only charge per well, so it wasn’t like you have to go spend $15,000 on a platform before you really know how it works or whether your employees, and more importantly your field people, like it. We tried it on five wells and it was remarkable. We had the ability to warehouse the data, and better still, share the data with partners and stakeholders. It just expended from there – we got a lot of buy-in and continued to expand the product.

New working interest owners? The story of the one-click data transfer
A WellDrive customer, who is a prominent operator working in the Eagle Ford, was interested in selling their wells to another operator, who also happened to be a WellDrive customer. This would have created a ton of work for any operator. However, with WellDrive, all the data was already in a secure, easily accessible location for the potential new owner to view.
Drilling: The driving need for well information integration
Encino Energy‘s Operations Geology Manager, Randy Daniels, reported, “we utilized WellDrive to help us not only move [a thousand wells worth of data] from Chesapeake’s folder structure into our folder structure but also verify that the data was actually there, it was correct, it was accurate, it was labeled correctly… to help us make some of the best operational decisions early on.”
Spending too much time compiling data from multiple sources?
Being a non-operating partner involves receiving data from several operating partners. This includes data flowing in through various systems, all of which are organized differently. Prior to adopting WellDrive, Red Wolf Natural Resources had a difficult and time-consuming process of compiling reports from various sources.

HOW MUCH IS LOST TO YOUR TEAM’S NPT?
NPT (Non-Productive Time) is a familiar stat, usually equated to equipment and production. But it drastically affects office time as well. In a recent study by a super-major operator, it was estimated that employees in oil and gas spend approximately 60% of their time looking for data. If even a fraction of this inefficiency applies to your operations team, WellDrive can help.
By validating and organizing well data as it is sent to you from the field, WellDrive virtually eliminates the time wasted sifting through emails, tracking down information from service companies when they forget to send you the well data, copying files to a shared drive, or searching for data only to come up empty-handed when it’s misfiled.
ALL YOUR WELL DATA
IN ONE PLACE
With WellDrive, all your various methods for sharing files go away. No more email overload or disorganized shared files to dig through. WellDrive becomes the central hub for receiving and distributing information from the field to the office and out to your partners and service companies.
Everything is neat and tidy, accessible anytime, from anywhere – including from your mobile devices through our iOS and Android apps.
